Meet Akriti, M.A., Registered Psychotherapist #10363

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship challenges, difficult emotions, or a major life transition? Maybe you’re struggling with your relationship with your body, navigating parenting challenges, or trying to process experiences that continue to affect you today. Akriti provides compassionate therapy for teens, adults, and couples who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, eating and body image concerns, ADHD, parenting challenges, and trauma-related symptoms. She offers a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you work toward meaningful change.

Akriti believes that therapy is a collaborative process and that you already have strengths and resources within you that can be built upon. She takes the time to understand your unique experiences, challenges, and goals, creating a space where you can explore difficult emotions without fear of judgment. Together, you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, build effective coping strategies, and work toward feeling more confident and capable in your everyday life.

If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm, Akriti can help you better understand what you’re experiencing and develop healthier ways of navigating difficult emotions. She works collaboratively with clients who may feel stuck in cycles of worry, self-criticism, avoidance, or emotional distress, helping them build greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence.

Akriti also has a particular interest in supporting clients navigating eating concerns, body image, and self-esteem. If you’ve developed a difficult relationship with food or your body, you may feel caught between self-criticism, pressure, or expectations about how you should look or feel. Akriti provides a compassionate space to explore these experiences, develop a healthier relationship with yourself, and move toward greater self-acceptance.

For clients navigating ADHD, Akriti can help you better understand how ADHD may be affecting your emotions, relationships, routines, and everyday life. Whether you’re struggling with overwhelm, organization, emotional regulation, or self-criticism, therapy can provide a space to develop greater self-understanding and practical strategies that fit your individual needs.

Akriti also supports individuals and couples experiencing relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and family difficulties. Whether you’re struggling with communication, feeling disconnected from your partner, navigating changes in your family, or finding parenting particularly challenging, Akriti provides a supportive space to better understand the patterns within your relationships and work toward healthier, more connected relationships.

If you’re carrying the effects of trauma or difficult past experiences, you don’t have to navigate them alone. Akriti can help you create a greater sense of safety, understand how past experiences may be affecting you today, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions and situations.

Clients working with Akriti can expect therapy to be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to their individual needs. She believes that you do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Together, you can explore what is bringing you to therapy, build on your existing strengths, and develop the tools and insight needed to create meaningful and lasting change.

Akriti holds a Master’s in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University and is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is a Level 2 certified Somatic Experiencing practitioner and is passionate about helping clients connect their emotional experiences with what is happening in their bodies. Akriti provides counselling in English, Nepali, German, and Hindi and works with teens, adults, families, and couples through both in-person and virtual appointments.

At the heart of Akriti’s work is the belief that therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, uncover your strengths, and create meaningful change. You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
