Therapy for Relationships, Attachment, Trauma & Anxiety

Meet Maryse Hébert, M.A., Clinical Director, Supervisor & Registered Psychotherapist #9584
Are you struggling in your relationships, feeling stuck in patterns that seem difficult to change, or carrying experiences from the past that continue to affect how you see yourself and connect with others? Maryse specializes in helping teens and adults navigate attachment wounds, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, people-pleasing, codependency, and relationship challenges. She also works with couples experiencing communication difficulties, conflict, disconnection, intimacy concerns, infidelity, and breaches of trust.
Maryse believes that meaningful change begins with understanding yourself and the patterns that shape how you respond to the people and situations around you. She creates a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore difficult experiences, better understand your needs, and develop healthier ways of navigating emotions and relationships.
If you find yourself overthinking relationships, struggling to set boundaries, putting others' needs before your own, or questioning your self-worth, therapy can help you understand where these patterns come from and begin creating new ones. Maryse works with clients to explore how early experiences and attachment relationships may continue to influence their emotions, behaviours, and relationships today. Together, you can build greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence while developing practical tools to support lasting change.
Maryse has a particular passion for relationship and attachment work. Whether you’re navigating a difficult relationship, recovering from a breach of trust, struggling with codependency, or wanting to develop a more secure way of connecting with others, she can help you better understand the dynamics at play and create healthier patterns of connection.
For couples, Maryse supports partners who feel stuck in recurring conflict, emotionally disconnected, or unsure how to reconnect. She works with couples navigating communication difficulties, intimacy concerns, infidelity, breaches of trust, and conflict. Her goal is to help partners better understand one another, recognize underlying attachment needs, and create a stronger sense of safety, security, and connection within the relationship.
Maryse is also passionate about supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, shame, and self-esteem or body image concerns. If you feel overwhelmed by your emotions or find yourself caught in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy can provide an opportunity to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and develop healthier ways of coping.
Clients working with Maryse can expect therapy to be both emotionally explorative and practical. She believes that understanding where your struggles come from is important, but so is having concrete tools to help you navigate them in your everyday life. Together, you can work toward greater emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and meaningful, lasting change.
Maryse is the founder and Clinical Director of Aura Counselling Services and is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta, where she assisted with research in social psychology focused on interpersonal relationships. She is also Level 2 certified in the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT) and has specialized training in attachment-focused and relationship therapy.
Maryse is bilingual in English and French and provides counselling to teens, adults, and couples. She offers both in-person and virtual appointments for existing clients.
