What Is trauma?
Trauma occurs when a distressing or overwhelming experience surpasses your ability to cope, leaving a lasting imprint on your mind and body. It can result from a single event, such as an accident or loss, or from ongoing experiences like abuse, neglect, or relational trauma. Over time, unprocessed trauma can affect how you feel about yourself, how you relate to others, and how safe you feel in the world.
You may notice symptoms such as anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, or difficulty trusting others. Many people describe feeling “stuck” in survival mode—disconnected from themselves or constantly on alert without knowing why.

Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy offers a compassionate and structured space to understand and heal from these experiences. Our approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and somatic, meaning we consider the ways trauma impacts your emotions, relationships, and body.
Together, we explore how past experiences continue to shape your present patterns—helping you develop awareness, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others. Therapy may include gentle exploration of memories, emotional processing, and body-based awareness to release tension and reconnect with your inner strength.
Through this process, you can:
-
Reduce anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and emotional overwhelm
-
Understand and calm your body’s trauma responses
-
Develop self-compassion and confidence
-
Reconnect with your emotions and needs
-
Build healthier, more secure relationships
Healing from trauma is not about forgetting the past—it’s about reclaiming your sense of agency, safety, and connection so you can move forward with greater ease and authenticity. With warmth and expertise, our therapists are here to support you every step of the way.
